The Story Behind Project DUBBEATS!

For those of you who use the Talk Audio Forum you may remember in the faint and distant past, the beginings of a car audio build were posted under the name “Project Re-dub” .
If you do remember then you might wonder what could have happened to this forgotten project. Well the poor little VW Beetle lay dormant for nearly 5 years due to staff and equipment changes, but it has now been re-born!

This whole project began with a stripped and welded up classic VW Beetle, which was purchased by Oxford Car Audio roughly 6 years ago as a rolling shell from a Talk Audio member who had already owned the vehicle for sometime previous.
The audio build began using RE equipment, and moved along smoothly until the main build member of the team left to pursue a different career path. After his departure the build slowed down to a crawl with only mechanical and bodywork changes happening over then next 5 years..

So it seemed the little Beetle would either be sold on or become a time capsule hidden away for umpteen more years never to be completed!

Well now the original build member has been brought back on board to help bring this poor little bug to its full (we hope) audio potential!

There is a new equipment provider in the name of  JL Audio who with the help of the distributor  Celsus will be providing 6 X 13 inch subs, 3 X 1000 Watt amplifiers, 4 pairs of components speakers for the doors and an amplifier to give them some volume! Proper exciting stuff!

Over the next few months we will be following the build up of the audio installation from where it currently stands to ultimate completion, we will also be following the progress of the bodys paint competition! Please check the “contest” section for entry info!!
